How to Make Your Own Spray Starch for Less

How to Make Your Own Spray Starch for Less. If you like freshly starched clothes, you know that commercial spray starch is not always a blessing. The sprayer develops residue and often sprays unevenly. There is a simple and cost effective recipe that you can make at home and use to starch your clothes effectively.

Things Needed

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • Plastic spray bottle
  • Permanent marker

Step 1

Add 1 tablespoon cornstarch to 1 pint cold water. Stir well until the cornstarch is all dissolved.

Step 2

Pour the solution into a plastic spray bottle. One that sprays with a fine mist works best for this purpose.

Step 3

Label the bottle clearly with a permanent marker.

Step 4

Shake the bottle well before each use. Spray on the clothes and iron.

Warnings

  • Add more corn starch-up to 3 tablespoons-for a harder starched effect.
